Just dropped a new Blueprint episode with Jordan Welch, and there’s a lot to take in.
What really stood out to me is how long he’s been doing this, despite how young he is.
It’s easy to see a 26-year-old making 7 figures and think, ‘That happened fast.’ But he started at 14. That’s over a decade of trial, error, failing more times than most people have even tried.
Here are 3 takeaways from our conversation that hit hard:
1. Get addicted… but to the right things
Jordan made one thing crystal clear—before anything else, you need to get your sh*t together.
For years, he smoked weed every day, got drunk almost every weekend. At the time, it felt normal, but it was holding him back in ways he didn’t even realize.
The second he replaced those habits for learning, building, and surrounding himself with the right people, everything changed.
And here’s the thing, once you start seeing results from that shift, you’re hooked.
Becoming obsessed with progress changes everything. Find something worth getting addicted to, something that actually pushes you forward.
2. Start cheap
If you’ve got no money, don’t make the mistake of starting in a market that needs a ton of capital just to compete, like software or clothing.
That’s a fast way to get stuck before you even begin.
The trick is to start with something low-cost.
Service businesses are smart because they let you sell a skill and make money fast. No fancy setup, no big investment.
If you don’t have the skills yet, you can get a job. Get paid, and use that money as your launchpad.
Once the money starts coming in, put it straight back into the business.
Improve your offer, hire better people, and get more eyes on what you’re building.
You don’t need much, but having a little breathing room gives you the confidence to keep pushing forward.
3. Copying is… smart!
School drilled into us that copying is wrong.
In business, it’s one of the fastest ways to win.
The key is starting with something proven, then improving or repackaging it. Whether that’s through pricing, branding, niching down or any other thing.
Most people waste years trying to be 100% original, building from scratch, instead of learning from those already winning.
The shortcut is right there. Take it.

Before I go, I want to leave you with something from my book What’s Your Dream? (which, by the way, is the #1 Sunday Times Bestseller for the second week in a row… not that I’m bragging or anything):
‘When you have a dream, you don’t count the hours – you make every hour count.’
A dream gives you something to hold on to when life gets tough.
It doesn’t break when things go wrong. It’s bigger than any obstacle in your way.
Alright. That’s it for today.
I’m gonna go and get some chicken now!
See you next week.
Dream BIG,
Simon
P.S. Watch what happened when I tried to give £1,000 to a stranger to get her to stop vaping.
