Hello, my friend!
This week, I sat down with Jamie Laing to learn his blueprint to build Candy Kittens, a multi-million dollar company.
Everyone knows Jamie is doing incredible things, but what really struck me in our conversation was his passion.
He genuinely believes in what he does. He’s authentic, real, and that’s exactly why he was able to stand out and build a brand that people love. He tells his story in a way that pulls you in, makes you care, and that’s a huge part of his success.
If you’ve got big ambitions but aren’t quite sure how to go from where you are now to where you want to be, here are three insights from my chat with Jamie that might just help you get closer to your dream:
1. Never follow logic
When Jamie came up with the idea for his sweets company, he knew one thing.
He couldn’t just follow what every other candy brand was doing. He had to be different.
The first step was promotion. At the time, he was on a TV show called Made in Chelsea. He only agreed to do it because he saw it as an opportunity to promote the brand he wanted to build. Candy Kittens had to feel authentic, personal, and real. It had to create a genuine connection with people.
Jamie made the packaging bold, fun and exciting. He made his sweets gluten-free and vegan. Every decision was about standing out in an industry that looked exactly the same.
If you are flying a plane or driving a car, following logic is a great idea. If you are building a business or a brand, following logic will put you exactly where everyone else is.
That is the last place you want to be.
2. Don’t take no for an answer
Jamie got rejected by factories. He got rejected by investors. He got rejected by big retailers. But he never took no for an answer.
He kept asking. He kept proving his passion and commitment.
Eventually, someone said yes. And when the opportunity came, he grabbed it.
We all want things to happen fast. We have big ambitions. We want to see results.
It takes longer than we expect. But if you keep pushing, if you stay in the game, your time will come.
3. They don’t invest in ideas
One of the biggest misconceptions, according to Jamie, is thinking that investors put money into your idea. They don’t. They invest in you. In your passion. In your ability to turn your vision into reality.
If you can show conviction and determination, if you make it clear that nothing will stop you from making this business work, people will feel that energy.
Your confidence will transfer to them. And when that happens, they will want to be involved.

Thinking about inspiration
I want to share a photo I got from DJ Chicken Nugget (if you follow me, you know who he is).

This kid is talented, creative, and full of potential. And it got me thinking…
The world needs more real role models.
People who lead with purpose, who lift others up, who show that success isn’t just about money or status.
Most influencers don’t even realize the impact they have. They chase numbers, not responsibility. And an entire generation is watching.
I’m not perfect. But I know this, helping others will always feel better than flexing.
Inspire. Give. Lead. That’s how you change lives.
Alright, that’s it for today!
Dream BIG,
Simon
